PITTSBURGH, PA — Heavy rain has begun to affect Friday traffic, with flooded roads and a landslide reported across the Pittsburgh metro area. A tree fell onto a Shell gas station along Spring Avenue after a reported landslide, according to WTAE. No injuries were reported. Pittsburgh Public Safety said the flood gates along Washington Boulevard have been lowered as of 2:06 p.m. Friday. "The road is closed due to rising water," the department said. "Please avoid the area and find alternative routes." A flood watch is in effect until 8 a.m. Friday. Freeport Road both ways from Boyd Avenue to Powers Run Road in O'Hara Township.Allegheny River Boulevard in both directions between Sandy Creek Road and James Street.Parts of PA-48 (Long Run Road) both ways, from Cool Spring Road to Old Long Run Road in McKeesport. Geyer Road in both directions between Wynne Street and Mount Troy Road in Shaler Township.PA-8 (Washington Boulevard) both ways between Negley Run Boulevard and PA-130 (Allegheny River Boulevard).Old State Route 56 in both directions between Warren Road and Hilltop Road in Center Township.
