Bank Robber Sought By Santa Rosa Police

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — An investigation was continuing Wednesday into a bank robbery in Santa Rosa. Officers were sent at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday to the Wells Fargo at 2960 Cleveland Avenue where it was reported that a man passed a teller a threatening note demanding money, the Santa Rosa Police Department said. The robbery suspect received an unknown amount of money and quickly left the bank, heading northbound on Cleveland Avenue, police Sgt. Christopher Mahurin said. Officers searched the area but did not find the robber. Police interviewed witnesses and processed the crime scene for evidence. A robbery at Wells Fargo, 2690 Cleveland Ave., was reported at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday. (Santa Rosa PD) The robbery suspect was described as a white man in his 30s with an average build and "bright blue eyes." He was wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball hat and a multi-colored facial covering. Police asked anyone who witnessed the robbery or has information that would help with the investigation to contact SRPD through its online tip line or call 707-543-3590. A reward of up to $2,500 is offered by the Sonoma County Alliance Community Engagement and Safety Rewards Fund for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible.
