NORRISTOWN —The Montgomery County Recovery Office on Thursday set a timetable for the distribution of $161.4 million in federal funds allocated to the county from the American Rescue Act of 2021. The county received requests for 426 projects comprising $1.3 billion in funds, Tom Bonner, recovery officer, informed the county commissioners. "This was a robust response," Bonner said. "We are very happy. We got intelligent, diverse proposals." The recovering office staff will review each project and score each project. The reviewers will consider the intent, viability and county priorities when rating the projects. The review process deadline is May 25. The projects will be scored and placed on the county website by June 10. A draft recovery plan will be published for feedback from June 24 to July 8. Final plan will be adopted on July 22 and implemented on July 27. Bonner noted that some municipalities received funding that was not part of the county recovery plan.
