DUBLIN, CA — The city of Dublin has advanced a proposed 573-home development, The East Bay Times reports.
The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved San Ramon developer Trumark Homes plan to build on the east Dublin hills amid objections from a neighborhood group opposing the project that's petitioned to stop it and may still bring additional legal challenges, according to the report.
The Dubliners Against Overdevelopment petition that tallied more than 5,000 signatures prompted the council in March to reverse its prior approval of the project late last year, the report said.
The council on Tuesday backed a modified proposal from the developer that met local standards, and it may have helped the city dodge a lawsuit.
Had the council failed to approve a project that meets local standards, it would have been exposed to legal action under state housing laws intended to promote construction amid the housing crisis, according to the report.
