Description
WEYMOUTH, MA — Some of those who have been delaying, or doing virtual, rehabilitation through South Shore Health will be allowed to resume them in person on an outpatient basis this week.
The hospital network will allow some services this week on premises for the first time since hospitals were closed to visitors, and all but emergencies and coronavirus cases, at the start of the coronavirus health emergency in March.
Patients will be required to wear a mask or face covering during their appointments, and sessions will be conducted in adherence to social distancing guidelines for the safety of patients and staff.
South Shore Health said that additional cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment and patient areas are in place. Virtual therapy visits will still be allowed with patients encouraged to choose whichever option makes them most comfortable.
Physical therapy and speech therapy will be available for both in-person and virtual visits. Therapy hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with appointments required.
At this time, South Shore Hospital's pools remain closed and community exercise classes remain canceled.
