AURORA, IL — Throughout March and into April, gas prices continued to decrease in Illinois. But as of the start of May, that's no longer the case. In Aurora, prices are up from the previous week.
As of Friday, the average price for gas in Illinois is about $4.56 per gallon, according to AAA. That's up 16 cents from the week before.
At around $4.59 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices are slightly above the state average.
Nationally Friday, the average was about $4.28 per gallon.
With prices as high as they are, you can still save a little bit if you know where to look in Aurora.
