NORTHAMPTON, NY — A Mastic man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Northampton Wednesday, police said. According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 6:01 p.m. when an officer saw Alex LopezPoncio, 22, speeding on County Road 51; he was determined to be intoxicated, police said. LopezPoncio was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI and numerous traffic infractions; he was held at Southampton Police headquarters for morning arraignment, police said.
