Description
Remember the Seattle City counsel voted to defund the police. Officers left for other cities that paid them bonuses. The fact that crime rates are soring and businesses are having to close their doors for good raised a few eyebrows. Downtown Seattle is a cesspool of drug addicts, homeless, and graffiti building. A real gang war turf struggle. Just your typical democrat city except now residents are complaining.
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell seemed to warm to a proposal to offer big incentives or pay for moving expenses for new police recruits.
At a Thursday appearance, Harrell said it was an "outstanding proposal" from Seattle Councilmember Sara Nelson to offer a resolution to open the door for thousands of dollars in incentives. The other ordinance, from Councilmember Lisa Herbold, would pay for moving expenses for new recruits.
I would be surprised if any officers would want to return. Remember those mostly peaceful protesters throwing rocks and bricks at the police and the burning down of the police precinct. How many police vehicles were burned or trashed while the Mayor looked on?
