Indie/90s Alt/Shoegaze/Dream Pop/Grunge/Emo/Noise/Power Pop/etc... Group looking for a Drummer Hi there! I'm a local musician from Brooklyn (south Baltimore), currently living in northeast Baltimore. For the last few years I've been writing songs that somewhat fit into the jumbled conglomerate of genres listed above. Fairly traditional rock/pop structures with a focus on emotion and texture. All of the songs/parts (so far) have been written/recorded by me. And I'm looking for others to help bring them to life in a live setting (as was the original intention)! I'm currently joined by my brother on bass, who has helped me with the recordings and fleshing out ideas. The music is heavily visceral and rhythmic, being that I'm regularly a drummer. Most of the drum parts are fairly simple, 4/4 rock grooves though with some Hip Hop/Drum machine type rhythms mixed in. The parts are pretty dynamic in terms of loudness/feel. Some slow/mid-tempo, some fast. Fairly straightforward overall I'd say though. We actually have a show set up and confirmed for June 24th in the city! We had initially planned to perform as a duo (my brother and I) along with a drum machine, which we've been doing for practice. However, it would be awesome to have a live drummer for the show, as the songs were written to be performed by a full band. The goal of the group currently is get our feet wet in the city by playing shows regularly for the time being. I much prefer playing live to writing, but enjoy both immensely and would love to write collaboratively after fleshing out/playing shows with the current batch of songs. I currently live in a house in northeast Baltimore with 2 other roommates who are also musicians. We have a shared music room, however, our schedules are revolving, so practices will have to be flexible. The aim is at least 1 practice a week, most of which are after 6pm, but I'm always open to daytime too sometimes if our schedules happen to align. Sorry for the word vomit, but I figured I'd put as much out there as I could to try and make things transparent. Overall, I'm just looking for someone that's upbeat, fun, and steady behind the kit! If any of this seems cool to you, send a reply! Let me know a little bit about yourself, your musical background, what band/drumming experience you have and any music you've worked on if you can! I'll send some songs your way and you can let me know what you think! Huge list of Influences/Bands we like (no particular order): Animal Collective, Tame Impala, My Bloody Valentine, American Football, Slowdive, Miracle Fortress, The Cure, The Promise Ring, Maritime, Bowie, Her's, Alvvays, Bark Psychosis, Soul Blind, Deftones, Cap n Jazz, Lemon Jelly, Nap Eyes, Elton John, Deerhunter, DIIV, Nirvana, Pond, Think About Life, Grizzly Bear, Vetiver, Alice in Chains, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Joan of Arc, Galaxie 500, Swervedriver, Dino Jr, CAN, 12 RODS, Nothing, Interpol, Slow Crush, Duster, etc......
