Description
Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts seeks an Assistant, Operations to assist in keeping Foundation buildings and grounds presentable and properly functioning. Manage mail operations. Provide support for rentals and special events at pavilions Wolf Trap National Park and at The Barns, and the Center for Education. Maintain paper, cleaning, and janitorial supplies and restock as needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Sort incoming mail upon delivery; meter outgoing mail and drop off at Post Office. • Prior to events at Pavilions Wolf Trap National Park: blow off leaves and debris from decks, verify bathrooms are well stocked, set up tables and chairs, etc. • Coordinate with cleaning crew to keep or change cleaning schedule as needed. • Periodically check the grounds along Trap Road for trash or broken fence rails, pick up or fix as needed. • Keep planters watered at the Center for Education building and water plants at The Barns as needed. • Monitor and coordinate package deliveries to the Center for Education; deliver packages to staff; organize and maintain mailroom and loading dock areas. • Handle snow removal and ice mitigation effort (e.g. shoveling, snow blower, salting sidewalk, etc.) at the Center for Education building and The Barns, as necessary. • Other upkeep projects, e.g. painting, moving furniture, supplemental cleaning. • Utilize Tripleseat event management software to stay abreast of events occurring around The Foundation and Park spaces. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Some experience in customer service oriented environment REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record • Self-starter with good time management skills • Ability to safely use common power and hand tools • Ability to work independently • Must be reliable and accessible • Sensitivity and commitment to the mission of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, plus walk up and down stairs • Operate power and hand tools; ability to shovel snow • Regularly operates a computer and other office equipment (i.e. calculator, copier, printer, etc.) • Will be required to stand, stoop, bend and reach with arms • Lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently solo, and greater weights assisting others.
