POSITION TITLE: LABORER (for earthwork, underground utilities, demolition, site prep, trenching, etc.) PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: Perform all work assignments in a safe and effective manner. Protect company interests and values in all matters. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Follow all directions given by Foreman and/or Field Superintendent 2.Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap. Collect and dispose of excess materials and trash 3.Adhere to company policies and operational procedures 4.Assist Foreman daily with crew performance 5.Maintain a safe working environment by identifying workplace hazards and taking corrective action when necessary 6.Provide timely and accurate documentation for reporting safety issues, equipment damage and workplace injuries 7.Read and interpret grade stakes, site markings, maps, and blueprints, and or drawings to move material according to defined specifications 8.Keeps awareness of surroundings near the equipment to maintain safe operation and distances from potential hazards such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects 9.Other projects or duties as assigned by management 10.Takes initiative in getting assigned tasks done in a safe and timely manner
