Press release from the Town of Weymouth: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Weymouth COVID-19 Orders, Directives and Guidance Extended to June 8th (Focus remains on staying home and social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19) In line with new COVID-19 pandemic guidance from the federal government as well as Governor Baker, Weymouth is extending existing COVID-19-related orders, directives and guidance to at least June 8, 2020. This action is being taken out of an abundance of caution in light of sharp increases in confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, the likely high number of unknown positive cases, and predictions from health experts that positive cases may continue to rise and social distancing is paramount to slowing the spread. This means the following restrictions and closures will be in effect: All Town Buildings are Closed to the Public through June 8th All town offices remain remotely open for business All Town Organized Programming is Cancelled or Postponed through June 8th Including Libraries, Parks and Recreation, Senior Center, and Teen Center Park and Recreation Amenity restrictions and closures will remain in effect until such dates as specified below: Parks & Athletic Fields remain open for passive use only (no organized practices, games or individual instruction) Social distancing must be followed (stay 6 feet apart) Face Coverings required; masks must be worn when social distancing cannot be maintained, in accordance with COVID -19 Executive Order No. 31. Anyone on the fields MUST have face covering available at all times Tennis Courts and Pickleball Courts to open May 21, 2020 (no contact, singles only) Basketball Courts & Playgrounds will remain closed Connell Rink & Pool remains closed until June 26, 2020 All Non-Essential Service Businesses are Closed subject to the Governor's Reopening Plan.
