Hello Students (and parents) of all ages! With finals are quickly approaching, and possible college/graduate school applications due in the fall, I wanted to introduce myself! My experience: I have experience tutoring elementary through high school students, including extensive experience tutoring English Language Learners at a non-profit organization. Given my undergraduate and graduate school background, I am also comfortable supporting students applying to college and applying to graduate school, whether it be with proofreading and structuring of application essays, or resume building. Most of all, I enjoy supporting and empowering students, whether they are frustrated and having difficulty or high-performing. I know first hand the stressors of school, and would love to assist in anyway I can. My background: My name is Devon Harris and I am a UCSD graduate and current Graduate Student with broad tutoring experience! For background, as a middle and high school student I was a high-achieving student with success in Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Advanced English and History courses, inclusive of scoring a 5/5 on AP Language Comprehension and AP U.S. History courses. In my undergraduate education, I completed college level Calculus and English/Writing courses, as well as extensive lower and upper division Psychology courses, finishing my Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a 4.00 GPA. Following undergraduate, I applied to nearly a dozen competitive graduate programs, eventually committing to one of the top Masters of Social Work programs in the state. This experience offers me extensive experience preparing applications, essays, and resumes. Last, I have the unique perspective of counseling and offering mental health services to middle and high school youth, and look forward to supporting students regardless if they are excited, anxious or frustrated. Standard rate: $25-30 per hour (Depending on the number of hours, and subject at hand. I am happy to reduce rates if you need many hours per week, and can discuss rates for application assistance.)
