LAKELAND, FL — Gov. Ron DeSantis has allowed Florida to begin Phase 2 of coronavirus reopening in 64 of Florida's 67 counties, including Polk County.
Downtown Lakeland bars were again open for customers as of Friday, June 5. Many downtown businesses took to social media to share their excitement about the easing of coronavirus restrictions.
Lakeland Loft, a downtown cigar lounge, posted on its Facebook page: "We will be open this Friday at 50 percent capacity, but no worries; we have a large seating capacity of 228, so we will practice social distancing with 6 feet between parties. We look forward to serving you again soon! Be sure to share so all of your friends can join us too!"
Linksters Taproom is also enthusiastic to see regulars again, and welcome first-timers at the venue. The business announced on Facebook: "We will finally be opening back up this Friday (June 5) at 12pm! Can't wait to see all our wonderful customers! Make sure you stop in and say hi to us! We have missed you all so much!"
During Phase 2, bars are limited to 50 percent capacity indoors, with everyone seated, although outside seating will be unlimited.

These businesses must follow guidelines issued by the state health department.
