LAKELAND, FL — Charles Schwab, a full-service investment service firm, recently opened a new independent branch in Lakeland, but due to coronavirus health concerns is operating differently than usual, the firm said. The Lakeland branch, located at 6419 S. Florida Ave., has temporarily closed its building to the public, however, the financial institution continues to offer full support to clients virtually during the coronavirus pandemic. The branch encourages clients and non-clients to contact the branch at 863-450-3272. "Given the current environment, people have a lot of questions about how to approach their finances and investments, so it's more important than ever to make help and guidance accessible in Lakeland," said branch leader Lydia Boyd. "Although we are temporarily not able to meet with clients in-person, we remain focused on Schwab's commitment to be an advocate for the individual investor and provide them with the help and resources they need." Schwab said it is monitoring information and guidance provided by local, state and federal CDC officials and will communicate updates or changes to in-person branch access as quickly as possible. In the meantime, in addition to contacting the Lakeland branch directly for virtual assistance, Schwab clients can also engage with the firm through its website at www.schwab.com, online chat, and the Schwab mobile app. Once the Lakeland branch reopens to public access, Boyd expects to hold complimentary educational investing workshops, which are available to Schwab clients, as well as the public.
