I’m set to be euthanized May 7th, 8 am. Why am I E-listed? STRESS!!... I’ve been here since 2/24/22! and am now suffering from long periods of confinement with limited opportunities for walks and play. It is inhumane to keep me here any longer!! Can you save my life? I’m a 2-year-old, neutered, white and gray, American Pit Bull Terrier Mix (52 lbs.). I came to the shelter as a nervous, stressed stray. Sadly, No one has come to find me! I tolerated shelter life for over a month but then started breaking down…barking, leaping in my kennel, and grabbing/biting the leash or anything in proximity to it. When approached at the kennel gate, I can be pushy trying to get out of this small concrete box. Can you blame me? In the play yard, it takes time for me to settle. I am a playful boy that can get easily over excited and will jump up. I lean into petting, will respond to a “sit” command for taking treats, and I take them gently from an open palm. I tend to pull hard on a leash but do better with a harness, and I walk well when outside the shelter. I’ve been living too long at this noisy, chaotic place, and I’m going “bonkers”! I need out ASAP!! There are no shelter notes indicating how I would do with other dogs, but it is recommended (not required) that I be an only dog currently. The shelter also recommends that I have an experienced adopter that will go slow with me and that I meet the entire family before going home. I might need help with learning not to bite at the leash, but that may go away when I’m not so stressed. If you adopt me, I will need time to de-stress and will also need plenty of physical and mental activity. I can't imagine this is how it could end for me...I don’t want to die‼️ Will you save my life? Love, Vector❤
