(Craigslist requires a range of dates for events. But this is an open-ended engagement, going beyond May 22 if there's any interest.)
Start It, Finish It, or Get Unstuck.
Develop a concept from any point, starting with the expansion of a single word or sentence. Draft an outline and sketch out some characters to drive your short story, novella or novel. Get started drafting a chapter one sentence, one paragraph, one page at a time. The objective is to point you, the author, in a direction.
Workshops are conducted on a one-on-one basis in a public venue such as the community rooms of The Lakewood Public Library’s Madison Branch (by appointment, as space must be reserved two weeks in advance) or Rising Star Coffee Roasters (as long as you are prepared to buy something off the menu so we’re not loitering). I will also be reaching out to some local small-business owners to see if they would be interested in hosting events where I would be available for walk-up consultations (and where authors could browse and maybe buy something while they wait their turn to meet with me).
Please: To arrange a meet-up, respond with WRITER in the Subject Line to weed out spammers and bots, and share with me your real name and contact information, which I will keep confidential. Let me know what your project is and how far along you are. If it's more a than a couple-few pages, I might ask you to submit it for review prior to our meeting.
