BARTOW, FL — Two Future Farmers of America chapters from Polk County schools earned the title of "Florida's Finest" for 2020 in the national level judging at the National Chapter Award Program. The winners are Bartow Middle School and Westwood Middle School, Polk County Public Schools said. "These chapters have excelled in the areas of growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture, and have worked hard to fulfill the mission and vision of the FFA," said the Florida FFA Association. A total of 34 school FFA chapters earned the "Florida's Finest" honor this year. Bartow Middle School was also a finalist for Middle School Model of Excellence in the same program. School officials said Bartow is the only school finalist in Florida this year for the title "Middle School Model of Excellence." Bartow will compete against four other finalists from other states in the National FFA's annual convention in October. The Model of Excellence honorees exhibit exemplary qualities in all categories of growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture.
