POLK COUNTY, FL — Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested 48-year-old Daniel Darren Sweeney on the charge of video voyeurism Monday. Sweeney is a registered sex offender for possessing child pornography, investigators said. Nude videos of a child the suspect knows was found on his electronic devices, according to authorities. The videos were recorded in the bathroom, deputies said. Daniel Sweeney, a registered sex offender, faces charges of video voyeurism and violation of felony probation, according to Sheriff Grady Judd. (Polk County Sheriff's Office)During an interview, Sweeney told detectives he recorded and edited videos of the victim. He also told the detectives he knew it was wrong to do so. "I am proud of the citizen who reported this horrible crime," Sheriff Grady Judd said. "Protecting children is a priority, and the arrest of this sex offender sends this message — harming children in any manner will not be tolerated." Sweeney is being held with no bond at the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and is charged with video voyeurism and violation of felony probation.
