WESTON, MA — Weston has 84 confirmed cases of the virus in town, as of Wednesday. Four residents have died from the virus and 91 have recovered and been released from isolation/quarantine.
According to the town, 179 residents are being monitored daily.
"Weston is not a big town so we all need to work together and be even more vigilant about staying at home and practicing physical distancing and proper hygiene in order to reduce the spread," the town said in a notice to the community.
Weston's Emergency Reserve Corps (WERC) is seeking volunteers to help the community respond to the COVID-19 crisis. There is never a requirement to assist or to fill a role beyond one's capabilities, and no previous experience or training is necessary. Find more information and a downloadable application on the Town's website. Contact Rudy Ruggles, WERC Chair, with any questions.
State health officials on Wednesday revealed 151 new deaths related to the coronavirus, announcing the highest daily death toll yet just hours after Gov. Charlie Baker said Massachusetts is "in the surge" of the pandemic. The total number of cases in the state is 29,918.
