Description

Business owners have their chambers of commerce, endless networking events and opportunities, and the ear of local governments to share their needs and concerns and get support. The workers who keep the businesses and our communities going have been left alone and unheard through constantly worsening conditions. Until now. Join us as we launch a new opportunity for the working class, employed or not, to get to know each other and our shared struggles and find ways to support each other directly and grow our power as a collective. Thursday, May 12 at 6:00 PM in JFK Park in Dover, NJ. We'll be hanging out on the grass or at a table - just look for the gray and black Mutual Morris t-shirts. This is a casual gathering in the park for us to just meet and talk and start making plans together. There are so many ways we can support each other. If you are struggling with low wages, uncaring bosses, high rent, lack of meaning in your daily life as a result of your job, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Let's talk: -Mutual Aid -Worker-owned cooperative businesses -Housing collectives -Childcare collectives -Crafting guilds -Workplace organizing -And more! This is a working group of Mutual Morris, a mutual aid network started in February of 2020 to help community members impacted by Covid, while also building self-sufficiency for the long-term through education and support of community initiatives. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram @ MutualMorris for more information.
