All ranks and civilian staff are welcome. The course is being hosted by the 101st Wing, Maine Air National Guard. All instruction will take place on base at the University of Maine, Wells Conference Center, 131 Munson Road, Orono, Maine, 04469. OVERVIEW: We are celebrating the delivery of over 20 years of education on law and leadership at Air National Guard wings across the country. Historically, this course is designed to make the Air National Guard a more professional and formidable force. The primary goal of the course is to prepare Air National Guard officers, NCOs, and future leaders to work as a team to identify and respond to contemporary base issues. Leadership and educational areas of emphasis focus on status; military discipline; ethics; standards; readiness; mental health; sexual assault; domestic operations; and leadership. These topics are addressed via lecture and student interaction over a two-day period. The CBI cadre’s goal is to make this course the most educational and rewarding experience possible. Many attendees over the years have expressed that CBI is the best professional development course they have attended in their career. Instruction begins at 0730 hours and ends at approximately 1630 hours each day. ORDERS/FUNDING/UNIFORM: This announcement supports justification for orders to attend the course. Local unit training (not school) funds should be used. The Uniform of the Day is OCP, flight suit, or any combination of blues. Most students and the CBI cadre wear OCPs. REGISTRATION: Register at https://airngcbime.eventbrite.com. If you are a Traditional Guardsman, please register with an email address you check regularly. The exceptional Course Administrators will do their best to assist you. TRAVEL/LODGING: Each registrant is responsible for their own travel reservations. Travel days to and from the course location are 23 June and 26 June for non-local attendees. Bangor International (BGR) is the closest major airport. Portland Jetport (PWM) is located about two hours away and may offer more direct flights. Rental cars are encouraged for members traveling from outside the local area. Carpooling is also encouraged. The landing fee is optional but required for all Airmen enjoying the snacks and refreshments provided. All meals are "on your own" during the course. There are several eateries in and around the local area within reasonable walking and driving distance. Note-taking/reference materials will be provided. No preliminary work is required to attend this course. Registration will be open at the venue by 0630 hours on Friday, 24 June, to allow all Airmen enough time to check-in, pay the landing fee, receive course materials, and be in a seat by the start of the course at 0730 hours.
