Press release from The JAX Chamber December 3, 2020 Timucuan Parks Foundation is pleased to announce John Delaney has rejoined its board of directors. Delaney, the former mayor of the City of Jacksonville, created the Preservation Project Jacksonville in 1999 which is known today as the Timucuan Parks Foundation (TPF). The Preservation Project was an innovative conservation program that helped create one of the nation's largest urban park systems. TPF supports, protects and promotes the vast network of preserves and the partnership between the City of Jacksonville, Florida State Parks and the National Park Service. "We are thankful that John has agreed to join our board and help guide our mission," said Mark Middlebrook, executive director of TPF. "His vision for conservation all those years ago helped add to the state and national parks to create one of the largest park systems in the U.S. We are committed to helping make our park system, not only the largest but the best and we look forward to having the former mayor on our team." Delaney is a shareholder in Rogers Towers' Governmental and Regulatory Law Department and a principal in The Fiorentino Group. He is the former president of the University of North Florida where he served for 15 years. While at UNF, he was the college's chief fundraiser and tripled the University's privately funded endowment. He also served as interim chancellor of the State University System of Florida. Delaney is one of nine professionals from diverse backgrounds throughout North Florida that serve on TPF's board of directors.
