Press release from The JAX Chamber December 3, 2020 Hunger Fight, Inc. is pleased to announce it has been named a "2020 Top-Rated Nonprofit" by GreatNonprofits for the fifth consecutive year. The GreatNonprofits seal is the second most trusted rating seal, after the Better Business Bureau, according to a study by Software Advice. Hunger Fight topped the list of all Top-Rated Florida nonprofits with the most inspirational stories from volunteers, donors, and recipients of aid. The Great Nonprofit rating distinguishes Hunger Fight from more than 1.5 million charities and nonprofits in the United States. "We can't thank our partners, donors, volunteers and the community enough for their continued support. We couldn't have achieved such an honor without them," said Hunger Fight's executive director, Sherri Porter. Since Sherri started Hunger Fight in 2012, they have delivered 10,101,850 meals and 103,392 books to help eradicate childhood hunger and illiteracy. Hunger Fight's "Feed the Backpacks" program provides nutritious, shelf-stable meals to children in the Federal Free and Reduced Meal Plan at school. Their "Feed the Need to Read" program provides age-appropriate books to children ages birth to five to develop emergent literacy skills. "Hunger Fight was so extremely organized. We hosted an event to pack and provide 1 million meals for the Utah Food Bank. I was impressed by their ability to be efficient with both the time and resources necessary to coordinate the thousands of volunteers. Their hearts are in the right place as well. Highly recommend!"- donor review- As the pandemic continues and the holiday giving season is upon us, Hunger Fight is proud to receive this recognition.
