Foster Care Awareness Month Fashion Show It is said that blood is thicker than water, and friends are hard to come by but I have discovered that blood, familiar ties or heavy words do not bind true family. As an adopted child I have learned what family really means. It means love and commitment, loyalty and unconditional love. As one of eight children and the fifth born to a drug addict, I had often heard that I too would be a drug addict, or that I would not amount to anything. However, "Birth Didn't Confine Me”, so I would like to help bring awareness to struggles that foster children face and help them to overcome and become successful leaders.
