NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A death at the Stamford Train Station is being felt 18 miles down the train tracks in Westchester County as the victim is identified as a New Rochelle man. The 54-year-old was killed early Thursday morning after he was hit by a train at the Stamford Train Station, according to Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department spokesperson Aaron Donovan. The man, identified as Noel Smith, was hit by a train at approximately 1:30 a.m., Donovan said, noting that the incident is being investigated as "non-criminal in nature." Editor's note: This post was edited to reflect that the deceased was a 54-year-old man and not a woman as originally reported. Hours before, around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Michael Haden Crouse, 38, of Newington, Connecticut, was hit by a train and killed near the Cos Cob Train Station, Donovan said. An investigation into this earlier fatal collision continues. This story relies on previous reporting from Patch's Richard Kaufman.
