In this 2 day class you will make a custom Cutting Board out of multiple species of wood! This is a great beginner or refresher class! Come solo and make friends or invite a buddy to sign up with you! Come for Date Night or buy a ticket for someone as a gift! This class maxes at 10 students and is great for anyone hoping to get a little taste of woodworking! During this class you will learn how to use a variety of tools including; jointers, planers, table saws, chop saws, and the timesaver.  You will also learn hand sanding techniques. Available lumber species: walnut, cherry, maple, ash, oak, and more. Final dimensions of your Cutting Board are approximately 18" x 11". DAY 1 -- 06/06/22 -- 6:30pm-8:30pm: We will learn to "square stock" (preparing the boards so they have straight edges and are ready for gluing).  Then we will cut staves from a variety of different species of wood and combine them to create the pattern you want for your Cutting Board. We will end this day by gluing and clamping together our strips of wood to make a rough board. DAY 2 -- 06/13/22 -- 6:30pm-8:30pm: We will plane down our rough blanks, cut them to final dimensions, and then sand and finish the cutting boards by hand. Your new board is now ready to go home with you! --All materials, tools, hardware, and safety equipment are provided! --Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. No loose clothing like baggy sleeves or scarves. Be sure to wear clothing you don't mind working in, you'll want to be comfortable and protected. We will get dusty!
