NORTH HAVEN, CT — A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted burglary of a jewelry store in North Haven earlier this year, according to police.
Police responded to Washington Avenue around 4 a.m. on Jan. 25 for the attempted burglary.
Arriving officers found a window with significant damage, but said the suspect didn't get into the store, according to police.
Investigators learned of a similar incident that happened that morning in Berlin, police said.
With the assistance of the Berlin Police Department, North Haven detectives identified Juan Troncoso Garcia as a suspect.
Police said detectives linked Garcia to the scene and an arrest warrant was approved.
Garcia was found and arrested by authorities in Massachusetts on April 2. After waiving extradition, North Haven detectives took Garcia back to Connecticut on April 28, police said.
Garcia was charged with criminal attempt at third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, second-degree criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit second-degree criminal mischief.
