MILWAUKEE, WI — A Milwaukee judge convicted a 53-year-old man on Thursday after he killed a 12-year-old boy with a hammer in 2021, according to a report.
Andrez Martina, 53, was found guilty of multiple charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, physical abuse of a child resulting in death, neglecting a child, intentionally causing bodily harm to a child and possessing a firearm as a felon, according to court records.
The man was found guilty on all counts in a Milwaukee County courtroom on Thursday, WISN-12 reported.
The penalties for Martina's charges range from a minimum of 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine to life in prison, according to state law.
Martina accused 12-year-old Andre Smith, his grandson, of stealing from him before bludgeoning him to death with a hammer, a criminal complaint said. He was originally charged in August 2021.
