Here are the top three stories in Roanoke today: The Roanoke Police Department is searching for the person who abandoned a dog and four puppies along Crowell Gap Road on Tuesday afternoon. The dogs were retrieved by officers and were taken to the Regional Center for Animal Care & Protection for treatment. The department has surveillance footage of a white Chevy pickup driver that they believe is the suspect. (WSET)A dozen protestors met at the steps of the federal courthouse in downtown Roanoke to voice their outrage at the possible overturn of Roe v. Wade. The protests were sparked after a leaked draft Supreme Court opinion declared Roe v. Wade unconstitutional. There has been no final determination on the future of abortion rights, but abortions are currently legal in Virginia up to the second trimester. (WSLS 10)Strawberry lovers rejoice! The Strawberry Festival returns to downtown Roanoke this weekend. The event is the Community School's largest fundraiser of the year and is the 42nd year that the festival has taken place.
