Here are the top three stories in Roanoke today: Roanoke City Public Schools is asking the community to provide input into the selection process of several new principals. The district is hosting a survey to help identify candidates possessing the proper qualifications necessary to lead Roanoke schools. Click the link to complete the survey. (Press Release Desk )The Roanoke City Sheriff's Office will be raising funds for the Special Olympics. The department will be hosting an event at Red Robin on Valley View Boulevard on May 14 from noon to 3:00 p.m. Anyone who donates will be given a pledge card to place on a Sherriff's vehicle. The department hopes to completely cover the vehicle before the event ends. (The Roanoke Star)The City of Roanoke is asking for the community's input in revitalizing the Gainsboro neighborhood. The effort is being led by Chuck D'Aprix after being chosen by the City of Roanoke. The study is being conducted through a $50,000 state grant. Click the link to complete the important survey.
