Press release from the Colorado Springs Police Department: May 4, 2022 On May 2, 2022, at approximately 5:44 pm, Officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) were dispatched to the Circle K, located at 3290 Austin Bluffs Parkway, for a shooting call for service. Upon arrival, Officers located two adult individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Detectives with the Homicide/Violent Crimes unit responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. Preliminary information indicates that a male suspect entered the Circle K and shot the employee inside the business. The suspect then exited the business and shot a second victim who was at the gas pump. The suspect drove away from the scene in the second victim's vehicle, which has since been located. Both victims suffered significant injuries however are expected to survive. The suspect is described as a light skinned black male, possibly late teens or early twenties, wearing all black clothing, black mask, and black backpack.
