MARYLAND — Happy Mother's Day, Maryland! We asked readers to send us pictures of their moms. Here are some of our favorites. Crystal Henry submitted this first photo of her, Dina and Madalyn. The trio proudly spans three generations. Courtesy of Crystal Henry Kerry G. Johnson shared this shot from Easter brunch with the family at Busboys and Poets in Columbia. From left to right, the picture shows Kerry G. Johnson, Tawanda W. Johnson, Autumn L. Johnson and Miles X. Johnson. Courtesy of Kerry G. Johnson Jo Mitchell snapped this photo. Mitchell's 98-year-old mother is trying on a fun hat in Westminster. Courtesy of Jo Mitchell Shelly Wiley submitted this prayer card from her mother's funeral. Her mom, Alice Wiley, spent 75 of her 95 years in Laurel. "My mom was a true Laurel treasure and worked as the lunch lady at Laurel Elementary School for 25 years," Shelly Wiley told Patch in an email. "My mom loved playing Bingo at the American Legion and even won a color tv in 1965!" Alice Wiley had five children, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Even in her senior years, she stayed active and called herself the oldest member in the "old lady aerobics" classes. Alice Wiley passed last year. The family just sold her home, which her husband built in 1957. Shelly Wiley is grateful for all the memories they made in Laurel. Courtesy of Shelly Wiley Fidelia Israel took this selfie with her 86-year-old mother when she visited from India in March. Israel wanted a picture of them dressed alike. Israel said her mom is a Wordle expert who plays piano, violin and harmonica. She even plays the organ for her church in India. Israel loves that her mother hums while she does chores. "What a blessing to know that she is mine," Israel said. "She is also a great grandmother of four awesome munchkins." Courtesy of Fidelia Israel That's all for this week's round-up. Keep an eye out for next week's gallery. To participate, email your best picture to [email protected] with the subject line "Photo Of The Week." Don't forget to mention where you snapped the photo and tell us what's in the picture. Please only submit photos that you took personally. Horizontal pictures are preferred. Photos are due every Thursday at noon. We will post a story with a few of our favorites each Monday morning. The next gallery will go out on Monday, May 16. Good luck!
