Learn more about these career opportunities in our 5-week (35 hours/week) summer program at Laney College in Oakland.
Students completing this program will be prepared for entry level positions and continuation into community college skilled trades classes. The full-time program provides:
• An overview of a wide range of skilled trades (outside of the construction industry)
• Instruction in math and spatial & mechanical reasoning
• Job search skills, cover letter and resume assistance
• Site tours of various industrial sites
• Introduction to job opportunities
• Job placement services & referrals to job openings in the Bay Area
• Referral to local community college skilled trades education programs
These sectors are interested in reaching groups that are underrepresented in their ranks. Women, BIPOC, veterans, and the
justice- impacted are encouraged to apply.
