Firefighters Extract 2 From 'Major Injury' Crash Thursday In Indio

INDIO, CA — A two-vehicle crash in Indio left one person with "major" injuries Thursday. The crash occurred around 12:20 p.m. in the 81000 block of Highway 111, according to Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire Department. Responding crews found two people trapped in the vehicles, and both had to be physically pulled from the wreckage, fire officials said. One person was taken to a hospital with what fire officials described as "major injuries." No further details were immediately available, including the condition of the other trapped person.
