PITTSBURGH, PA — A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
Firefighters at Pittsburgh's Station 27 got a special delivery for "Star Wars Day."
The Pepsi company arrived at the Mount Washington firehouse on Wednesday, May 4, to restock and repair a vending machine that has become somewhat of a local landmark.
The Pepsi machine outside the firehouse features young Anakin Skywalker (and his podracing rival Sebulba) as seen in 1999's "Episode I: The Phantom Menace."
Firefighters have been keeping the machine stocked and operational for more than 20 years, the fire bureau said.
Spoiler alert: That's almost as long as the Galactic Empire lasted in "Star Wars."
The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire thanked Pepsi for the donation and shared several photos.
Pepsi will also donate $10,000 to Fire Station 27, according to WTRF.
