Description
ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst aldermen this week approved the reconstruction of two residential streets.
One of the projects is Van Buren Street, from Spring Road to the dead-end at Salt Creek.
The other is Crescent Avenue, from Poplar Avenue to its dead-end just east of Edgewood Avenue. This section of the street goes by Van Voorst Park.
The projects received four bids. The city chose the low bidder, Addison-based R.W. Dunteman Co., which came in at $1.5 million.
Under the contract, the company will fully remove the existing roadway and install new curbs and gutters. The work is planned this summer.
R.W. Dunteman restored St. Charles Road in 2019 and York Street in 2021.
"City staff found their work to be completed in a satisfactory manner," a city memo from last week said.
