CLAWSON, MI — There was a larger police presence at Clawson High School Thursday morning after police said they encountered a student who was in a "crisis" Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the high school student was talking to himself and punching a fence Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses also told officers the student was making threatening comments toward the schools, police said.
Police determined the student needed medical attention and took him to a nearby medical facility, Officials said. Police did not say where the incident happened or release the student's age or name.
After receiving medical help, the student was released back to officers, who took him to Children's Village while police investigate the incident, police said. Officials reiterated the community will be notified if any safety concerns arise.
"We understand the concerns of the school district and caring for their students," police said in a Facebook post. "To put everyone at ease, there will be a larger police presence around the schools tomorrow."
