Press release from the City of Champaign: Officers from the Champaign Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of N McKinley Avenue at 11:30 a.m. on May 4, 2022, for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a scene spanning two blocks at the intersection of McKinley and Beardsley with multiple shell casings and at least one vehicle struck by gunfire.
