UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Two firefighters were injured after a blaze broke out Thursday morning in a residential building on the Upper West Side, FDNY told Patch. The fire ignited within 114 W. 109th St. (between Amsterdam and Columbus) around 7:23 a.m., FDNY said. 114 W. 109th St. on the Upper West Side. Google Maps.A total of 60 firefighters responded to the flames that were contained to the first floor of the five-story building. The FDNY had the blaze under control by 8:11 a.m., but two firefighters were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries, the spokesperson said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
