Description
Need dog walker for very well trained 5 year old mini Australian shepherd (~21 lbs). Kvothe (pronounced nearly the same as "quothe") needs some company while I'm away at work M-F between the hours of 7:30am - 5pm. He only needs one visit around noon for about an hour and only once or twice a week. He LOVES fetch and going on walks. He responds to come, sit, wait, leash (sits and waits for you to put his leash on or take it off), go get it / go get your ball, no, leave it (to leave something he is trying to smell or eat), and quiet (although he's not very good at that one). He is loose leash trained but doesn't really know heel (he knows what it means but won't stay in position). Kvothe has the bad habit of barking and running at people but he's SUPER friendly and just wants to say hello and smell them or get pets. He'll jump up on people, but will respond to either "don't jump", "off", or as he's running you can say "Kvothe, No! Come here" and that usually stops him in his tracks so you cam leash him. Also, sometimes fetch is more important and you can distract him with the ball. Kvothe is NOT traffic smart, though, so on major roads he should be leashed and walking (not playing fetch). He'll chase a ball into a street without understanding what's wrong with it. You can get him under verbal control, but it's a little too scary for me so I prefer if you stay away from major roads or keep him leashed for those portions. If you do cross a major road and start to run or tell him to "hustle" he will, however his herding instinct may kick in. You'll have to tell him no to stop him from jumping and nipping so I recommend walking if possible. This is the only time I've ever seen him try to herd someone. I have treats and dental chews that you may give him. A "chuck it" and appropriately sized ball, plus two smaller squeaky tennis balls, are available. If you want to drive somewhere to take him on an adventure you may, provided he's home by 5pm but please let me know when and where you plan to do this. Paying $20-$60 a week, depending on frequency and complexity of service. Job is for the next 3 weeks only (May 2022) Call me if you're interested. .
