Description

FYI if you are experiencing difficulty in finding a ride through Lyft and Uber... It might be because your rating is low. Yup. That icon on your app might swirl around saying no one is available but the truth is that no one (drivers) wants to accept your ride request because your rating is so low( and thankfully we can see that). After driving for 4+ years I’ve learned that every rider under a 4.7 has that rating for a reason. Obviously some people are just A^holes. Other people though, are perfectly nice. They will thank you for wearing a mask or waiting for them when you show up, despite you driving 8 minutes to get to them, THEN waiting another 5 while they get their luggage ready for the airport and in the end not tip you. Perhaps one might think, “Wow this person just needs to get another job”. Believe me, this used to be my full-time job and it no longer is. But I gave it a shot today after a long hiatus and I know now it’s not worth it. This is unfortunate because less drivers means higher rates for everyone. All the drivers that I knew that used to drive quit years ago. Anyhow, if you have trouble getting a ride, it might be because you are rude, you are inconsiderate, are entitled, or simply don’t tip (gas is expensive!). Honestly even a $1 is better than nothing. The job is risky, ruthless and time consuming. I will no longer drive, but for the drivers that still do this and put themselves at risk, please be kind and tip them SOMETHING, at least.
