Hi, we’re Yaupon. Our primary goals are to write good music, play fun shows and grow as musicians and songwriters. We’re inspired by a lot of music, but the band was initially formed around a mutual love of Dawes and the Laurel Canyon Sound; we are also influenced by modern indie bands (The War on Drugs, Deer Tick, Wilco, etc.), pop, classic hard rock, and 90s college rock. We practice weekly and try to gig at least once a month, usually in the Houston area. We play a wide variety of gigs from smaller local shows to larger public events. Our current drummer is moving and we are looking for someone who is interested in writing and performing with us! We’re always looking to grow as a band and we’re looking for someone who can grow with us! We welcome persons of any race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation to apply.
