Female Lead Vocalist for Event Band

NYC, Brooklyn, and Northeast PA-based event band band in search of a professional female vocalist with a strong vocal range and ability to cover modern and classic popular music (rock, pop, country, folk, dance music, etc.) from 1960’s through today. Band typically performs for weddings, parties, corporate events and some club dates. All performances are paid. Pay starts at $400 per event and will go higher depending on duration and event type. Available dates currently include a few fall weddings plus some parties currently booking for the summer. Please note, this is not a full-time position. 7-12 events per season is typical for this position. Band typically performs as a 4 or 5 piece (guitar(s), bass drums) occasionally building to a 6, 7 or 8 piece with the addition of keyboard and horns. Performances are usually located regionally in New York, Long Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Many events fall on weekend dates but some corporate events especially may be on week days. Typically May through December is our busy season. The band is based out of NYC (Manhattan, Brooklyn) and Northeast PA, but if you have a car, you may be located anywhere in the northeast with reasonable access to NYC, Brooklyn and locations around the tri-state area. Please specify if you possess a driver's license or a car! VOCAL RESPONSIBILITIES: *Strong vocalist with the ability to cover popular music (rock, pop, country, folk, dance music, etc.) from 1960’s through to today (see examples below). *Sing 40-50% of lead vocal material, plus backing vocals or harmonies when necessary. *Ability to emulate modern pop vocal styles. *Ability to handle basic hand percussion parts including tambourine and shaker parts if possible. *Not required, but please specify if you posses the ability to play some kind of other instrument (ex. guitar, keyboard, ukulele, mandolin, violin, etc) AS A PERFORMER/ENTERTAINER: *Co-front 4, 5, 6 or 7-piece band consisting of one or two guitars, keyboard, bass, drums, and horns *Ability to entertain audiences, develop rapport occasionally speaking with large crowds or intimate gatherings *Ability to learn new material as required for special requests in advance of the gig *Some experience performing in a cover band, touring band, or similar musical situation *Posses a personality that is professional, fun, reliable and easy to work with DETAILS: *Song list is currently 75-100 songs.
