Coronavirus: 2 Cumberland Farms Warehouse Workers Test Positive

WESTBOROUGH, MA — Two Cumberland Farms employees in the Westborough distribution center tested positive for the new coronavirus. The company confirmed the two positive cases on Thursday. Cumberland Farms said all team members who may have worked with the affected team members in the last 14 days have been asked to stay home and call their doctor. "These team members will stay home from work until it is safe for everyone that they return to work. We have put in place enhanced cleaning protocols in all parts of the Store Support Center. Any team members who do not need to be at the SSC to perform their jobs are working from home, and we have asked everyone to follow CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19," Cumberland Farms said in a statement. Cumberland Farms' headquarters is based in Westborough — the distribution center ships the packaged sandwiches and foods sold in Cumberland Farms stores across the country. The company said the workers were not handling food. Cumberland Farms has almost 600 stores in 8 states, and employs over 6,000 people. The number of employees in the distribution center was not disclosed. There have been 7,738 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Massachusetts as of Wednesday.
