Description
Seeking lead guitarist who might be interested in being part of a casual and friendly group getting together every other Sunday afternoon to make music purely for the fun of it.
We are mostly older players/singers who have been doing this going on 10 years now - or at least we were until COVID shut us down for about the past year and a half or so. Now, we're in the process of getting things up and going again, but for the time being running on an every-other-Sunday afternoon schedule.
Being a part of what we do comes with no particular commitment or obligation - everyone is free to join us when they can, with no one getting any grief when they don't. We get together in a nicely refurbished old building near Deep Ellum and a typical session sees us with six to twelve folks - with multiple guitars, keys, violin, mandolin, bass and drums, an occasional sax, and vocalists. (Altogether, we have about 20 on our 'active' list.) Generally, our interest leans to older rock and popular stuff, but we have no rules about that. For that matter, we don't have many rules at all. Everyone is asked to check at the door their ego, attitude, drama, politics and religion, because we are all about having fun with our music.
In most cases, it is our singers who pick what they want us to play and we go with that. And to be clear, we are not working on "forming a band" and we are not looking to play gigs. It is all about enjoying making music with one another.
If you think that you might be interested in finding out more, why not give us a shout? It won't cost you a thing to at least check us out!
Thanks very much for looking!
