I read that NASA is sending out a radio wave message to the universe hoping to get a return. Alph Centauri is 4.3 light years away or 40,000 Earth years. Although a radio wave is constant unless it hits an object, it does thin out, making it less likely that it can be intercepted and even if it could be how is to be interpreted ? NASA has a budge of 26 billion dollars for 2022.. can you imagine what that amount of money could do here in America. About 18,000 people work for NASA, average income is around $130,000. highest being $180,000... I am not saying NASA does not have a place in society, but exactly what are they trying to achieve? Humans will never travel to another planet.. although I know all you think we will land a human on Mars, humans will never travel to another star system... just not possible. The worst of all of Gov. spending is that it is all borrowed money.. when you have a Debt of over 3 trillion dollars, is that what America has become... do not pay your debt, just create new debt. Yes and that goes for other Gov. programs including the military, and many other programs Of course there are two trains of thought on monetary policy... I don't believe in debt. others think just printing money is the way to go.. BTW did you Know the US went bankrupt in 1848 and other countries have also went bankrupt. Instead of spending money on NASA how about spending that money on a new "Rail" system for the US? Rail transportation is the most economical means compared to Flying or driving. Why are we not using Mag Lev, which we developed over 50 years ago... In Torrance there was a mile long track for years used for development. But the Gov does not seem interested in practical solutions for any problems.
