Not TOO Serious Rocker Seeking Others for 60's-70's Infl. Originals

Description

I've heard it's a numbers game. I've had three versions of The Roving Eyes over the last ten years, and the last version of the band went pretty far. We lasted for three and a half years ( with only one line up change ), and we played many of the main bars and clubs around town, including the Kenton Club, the White Eagle, the Bare Bones, Slim's in St. Johns, and the Gemini in Lake Oswego. I know I've got one more version of the band in me. It's a good band name, and it's already got some fans. In 2019, we did some professional recordings with a legendary music guy named John Neff. I wrote all but one of the songs that were released on Spotify last December, and all but three of the songs on the Bandcamp. https://open.spotify.com/artist/3GYcnFHXGmfIqksJlwWGTV And there are some more recordings on Bandcamp- https://therovingeyes.bandcamp.com/album/2017-2020 The band broke up a little over two years ago. For most of Covid, I haven't tried to get a band going again. But as Spring warms up, it feels like a great time to be rocking and rolling! Anyone who's tried to form a band knows that the right chemistry is crucial, and sometimes it takes more than a few attempts before you find that. The main thing I'm looking for is a good lead guitarist. I'm also looking for a good drummer and good bass player and possibly a keyboardist. Vocals are a plus. It would be nice to have someone else sing the vocals some of the time. I'll want to play some of the songs that are on the Bandcamp. I'm open to playing the ones others want to play. I have a couple newer songs I'd like to try out too. If you've written some good songs, I'm open to working on some of those as well, and collaborating on new stuff. I enjoy playing a few cover songs as well ( less obvious ones ), and even adding those to the set list. My main influences are from the 60's and 70's- The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, early Who, Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel, Dylan, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton ( Cream, Derek and the Dominos ), Springsteen, Bob Seger, Van Morrison, Cat Stevens, Elton John, Tom Petty, AC/DC, 70's soft rock and funk. I also like some 80's music, and some 90's music like Weezer and Cake, and early 90's Chili Peppers.... a few newer bands like Summer Salt. The thrill is in going for it, and the bigger thrill is when you GET some of what you're going for. Looking to gig, have fun, and eventually do some more professional recordings. I would love to eventually have a hit song on the radio! It can happen, from Portland. Look at The Shins, The Decemberists, and Portugal the Man. Let me know something about your experience level and who some of your main influences are. Any music links are appreciated. Erik
