Family dog needs new home

Our family is planning on moving in the near future but unfortunately will not be able to keep our family dog. His name is Axl (but you can always call him what you want). He’s a 5-year old mix that we rescued when he was 6 months old. He’s a really smart and loving dog and we keep him outside in the back yard most of the day (when it’s cool and not raining) and then he comes in to sleep at night (if he had his way, he’d stay indoors all the time – so he’s good either way). He’s very playful and loves to fetch/retrieve his tennis balls. He does great on a leash in public as well, as we take him on runs thru the local trails. He also is current on all his meds. We also have a cat, so he’s accustom to other animals in the house. He’s also been around other dogs of all sizes. He’s a really good guard dog as well, without being overly protective. He’s very good with new people and children of all ages and he doesn’t bite. He’s just an all-around good family dog….not too big and not too small (@ 30 lbs.), just a good sporty dog. We’d like to re-home him with someone who would provide a loving home and take good care of him. We’re not in a big rush to re-home him in the next few days, but would rather find him a safe/loving home sooner than later.
