From the City of Fort Myers: October 1, 2020 The Fort Myers City Council recently voted to cut building permit fees by 75% for one additional year beginning on October 1, 2020. Applicants may request one six-month extension of a building permit subject to the 75% fee reduction. Additional permit extensions shall cause forfeiture of the fee reduction, whereby full fees in effect at that time will be assessed prior to issuance of additional extensions. Resolution 2020-31 will be automatically repealed on September 30, 2021 unless further extended by the city council.
